The UK Tech Cluster Group has just released a playbook for their Pitch Me! model, a practical guide to help regional tech leaders replicate the model within their own regional tech ecosystem.
Pitch Me! is a structured, founder-first pitching and feedback session designed to support early-stage startup founders to test, refine, and strengthen their business ideas. Pitch Me! is not an investment pitch event and its value lies in honest, practical feedback.
Each Pitch Me! session gives founders the opportunity to:
- Pitch their business or idea in a supportive environment
- Receive constructive challenge, feedback, and advice
- Improve both the substance of their idea and how they communicate it
- Learn from listening to other founders pitch and receive feedback
The playbook has been developed as part of the wider Regional Tech Booster programme, which is funded by the UK Government, supported by the Department for Science, Industry and Technology and run by the UKTCG.
The playbook offers a tried and tested model that can be replicated across any of the regional tech ecosystems with consistency, to support founders and startups across the UK’s regional tech ecosystems.
Ben Shorrock, director at the UKTCG and CEO of TechSPARK in Bristol, explained, “We wanted to use the experience and knowledge that had been developed from our Investor Corridor events and the wider Regional Tech Booster programme in order to create a guide so that anyone can follow the same format.
“The Pitch Me! sessions allows founders to pitch their business ideas and receive constructive criticism, which in turn allows them to refine their business plans before they go out to pitch for investment funding.”
By utilising the playbook, delivery partners can set up the Pitch Me! Model, run sessions consistently and professionally, recruit the right founders and pitch listeners, as well as improving the format over time.
