Membership Eligibility and Terms and Conditions

1. Membership Eligibility

Full Membership is open to organisations that meet all of the following:

    • Local understanding – your organisation demonstrates knowledge and understanding of your local tech ecosystem through constant engagement at grassroots level

    • Cohesive – you represent a broad spectrum of technology sectors and businesses

    • Independent – your organisation is formally constituted, place-based, and focused on supporting your local ecosystem to grow

    • Collaborative – you are committed to working with other UKTCG members to benefit the UK’s wider tech ecosystem
  •  
    • Admission is subject to Board approval.

 

Ecosystem Supporter (Associate Membership) is open to universities, local authorities, combined authorities, innovation bodies and other public institutions that support regional tech ecosystems. Supporters:

  • May attend relevant UKTCG meetings and working groups

  • May contribute to specific initiatives, research and consultations

  • Are not eligible to vote or stand for the Board

  • Must support the aims of UKTCG

  • Fees and terms may vary by type and level of engagement and are set by the Board

2. Representation
Full members may nominate up to two representatives, one of whom must be at a senior or strategic level.

3. Membership Fees

  • Fees are annual and payable in advance

  • Fees are non-refundable

  • If a member leaves or is removed, no part of the fee will be returned

4. Termination of Membership
The Board may terminate membership for:

  • Non-payment of fees

  • Persistent non-engagement

  • Conduct detrimental to UKTCG
    Termination requires a two-thirds majority vote by the Board.

5. Member Rights (Full Members only)

  • Vote in Board elections

  • Propose initiatives or projects

  • Receive updates on strategy and activity

  • Join working groups and contribute to national policy positions

6. Member Conduct
All members must uphold UKTCG values and collaborate constructively. Disruptive behaviour may lead to membership review.

7. Branding and Use of Materials
Use of the UKTCG name, logo or materials must be approved by the Board. Ecosystem Supporters may reference their affiliation in agreed formats but may not speak on behalf of UKTCG without prior consent.
